At Northwind Roofing Ltd, we focus on quality workmanship! This is why we use industry-leading products from reputed brands for all our repair and installation jobs. Please take a look at the brands we work with and their products listed below:
Shingle Brand/Type – IKO Cambridge Architectural Shingles
IKO’s quality shingles provide superior weather protection and boost the curb appeal of homes throughout the United States and Canada. These shingles can enhance any home’s style, from traditional to modern, and from rustic to urban. Their dimensional profile and deep shadow bands together make a perfect replica of natural wood shakes, creating a classic designer look at an affordable cost.
The advanced colour blending technology and the wide range of colours available make IKO Cambridge architectural roofing shingles the most popular shingles among homeowners and contractors alike.
Why Should You Use IKO Cambridge Shingles?
We have listed some of the reasons why you should be choosing IKO shingles over other brands for your next roofing project:
The printed nail line guides installers to position and fasten the shingles correctly, in order to help keep them on the roof and prevent them from blowing off in high wind.
Built-in algae resistance
Special algae-resistant granules are embedded into shingles in order to inhibit the growth of blue-green algae that can cause unattractive black stains, streaks, and discolouration.
The only time it’s good to be tacky
You don’t want the shingles to be blown away during a storm or wind. If the wind lifts them up, water can sneak in underneath and may cause a leaky roof. These shingles have IKO Fastlock sealant strips along their bottom edges. When activated by the sun’s heat, these strips get extra-tacky and create a strong bond to ensure maximum protection against wind uplift, blow-off, and water penetration.
This shingle’s core strength is its fibreglass mat
IKO fibreglass mat is coated with weathering asphalt from top and bottom, and then surfaced with coloured granules. It is known for its exceptional durability and structural integrity.
ArmourGard – The Armour Your Roof Needs
ArmourGard ice and water protector is used to prevent water penetration due to ice dams or wind-driven rain. It is also used as an underlayment around chimneys, dormers, vent stacks, skylights, and other roof-top structures or apertures. You can also use this protector around doors and windows, and as an exterior vapor barrier for foundations and basements.
NovaSeal Roof Underlayment
NovaSeal Roof Underlayment is crafted from woven polypropylene, and thus outperforms Type 15 and Type 30 asphalt roofing felts in durability, ease of handling, weight, and protection from external elements.
It’s two-sided anti-slip coating results in a durable surface with good traction, allowing a safer work environment in wet or dusty conditions. You can leave it exposed for up to 12 months; it maintains a consistent thermal stability that keeps it flexible even in extreme weather conditions.
The underlayment is resistant to water and doesn’t support mold growth. It rolls flat and is resistant to wrinkles, cracks, leeches, tears, and punctures. NovaSeal can be used with all primary roofing materials, including shingles, shakes, mechanically attached terra cotta/cement tiles, and metal. It’s 100% recyclable and has fire resistance.
